Target audience: Ag lenders, marketing Use case: You want a list of operations in your market that are banking with a competitor, so you can start prospecting them. The UCC Blanket Filings report has a lot of filters. Before you start, pick the three or four that matter most for what you’re trying to find. In this workflow, those are location, secured party (the competitor), and operation size.

Open the UCC Blanket Filings Report

1
Click Reports in the left-hand menu
2
Expand Operational Data, then click UCC Blanket Filings

Filter the Report

1

Location

In County, State, select the county or counties you want to prospect in (for example, DeKalb, IL and Boone, IL). You can choose as many counties as you need.
2

Operation size

In Estimated Operated Acres, choose greater than or equal to and enter a minimum (for example, 1,000) to focus on larger operations.
3

Competitor

In Secured Party, choose is equal to and select the competitor’s name (for example, Midland States Bank). The same lender is often entered several different ways, so select every variation of the name.
4

Collateral type (optional)

To focus on a specific type of operation, such as livestock or poultry, use Collateral Description: choose contains and type a keyword (for example, “poultry”).
If your filters return too few results, loosen the least important one first. In this example, that’s Estimated Operated Acres.

Work the List

The Unique Operations and Total Blanket Filings counts update as you filter. Below them you’ll find:
  • Unique mailing list: each entity with a blanket lien filed against it, one row per entity
  • Filing details: every individual blanket lien filing that matches your filters
To research a prospect, click to view the operation on the map. You’ll see the blanket lien filing, its collateral description, any mortgages on the operation, and the operation’s details. From the operation panel, expand Highlight on Map to see all of the operation’s owned parcels and recent land transactions.
Hold Command (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) while clicking to open the operation in a new tab and keep your filtered report open.
